Noise monitoring
Environmental noise can be defined as the unwanted sound from a range of sources including construction and industrial noise, transportation systems or from domestic premises.
We provide a skilled noise monitoring service that is compliant with current British Standards and legislation.
Typical work areas include;
- Detecting noise nuisance in accordance with BS 4142 ‘Method of rating industrial noise affecting mixed residential and industrial areas’
- Determination of noise levels generated by construction sites following guidance in BS 5228 ‘Code of practice for noise and vibration control on construction and open sites’
- Measurement of environmental noise as a requirement of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, or for determining compliance with planning consents
- Supporting planning applications, in accordance with PPG 24 ‘Planning and Noise’
- Measurement of noise levels at mineral extraction sites following guidance in MPS2 ‘Mineral Policy Statement 2: Controlling and mitigating the environment effects of minerals extraction in England’.
We use Class 1/ Type 1 sound level meters and offer bespoke setup services that includes the configuration of extended data storage, unattended monitoring, remote downloads, text alert system and digital sound recording.
Our team is accredited to Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Institute of Acoustics (IOA) standards.
