Noise monitoring

Environmental noise can be defined as the unwanted sound from a range of sources including construction and industrial noise, transportation systems or from domestic premises.     

We provide a skilled noise monitoring service that is compliant with current British Standards and legislation.

 Typical work areas include;

• Detecting noise nuisance in accordance with BS 4142 ‘Method of rating industrial noise affecting mixed residential and industrial areas’
• Determination of  noise levels generated by construction sites following guidance in BS 5228 ‘Code of practice for noise and vibration control on construction and open sites’
• Measurement of environmental noise as a requirement of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, or for determining compliance with planning consents
• Supporting  planning applications, in accordance with PPG 24 ‘Planning and Noise’
• Measurement of noise levels at mineral extraction sites following guidance in MPS2 ‘Mineral Policy Statement 2: Controlling and mitigating the environment effects of minerals extraction in England’. 

Our team is accredited to Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Institute of Acoustics (IOA) standards.
